Overnight Camel Trekking in Merzouga is a journey to the Sahara Desert that everyone should experience at least once. It offers landscapes and views that most people only see in movies!
This overnight camel trek is the most popular option for camel trekking in Morocco. You will spend the night in a private nomad-style tent among the golden Erg Chebbi dunes.
During this 1-night camel trek, you will enjoy camel riding while watching a breathtaking sunset and wake up to an incredible sunrise. Additionally, you can participate in sandboarding, with breakfast provided at the comfortable camp. Your guide will handle all the details, ensuring a seamless experience with Berber hospitality, including hotel pick-up. Learn more about the Merzouga Desert.
Upon meeting in Merzouga, you will park your car in a secure parking lot and pack all necessary items for your evening in the Sahara Desert. The Merzouga overnight camel trek begins in the late afternoon, approximately two hours before sunset, and takes you deep into the heart of the desert dunes.
The trek lasts about an hour and a half, allowing you to enjoy one of Morocco's most beautiful sunsets. If you're interested, you can also try your hand at sandboarding. During the trek, we will take a break in the Sahara to capture pictures and enjoy the stunning landscapes until sunset.
Afterward, you will continue to the camp, where you will be greeted with a glass of mint tea.
As Berbers ourselves, we are excited to offer you an authentic evening in the desert, complete with traditional food, music, and ample tent accommodations.
We recommend rising early the following morning to experience a magnificent sunrise over the dunes. After enjoying this breathtaking view, you can have a delicious breakfast and shower at the camp. Following breakfast, you can ride the camels back to the starting location in Merzouga or transfer by 4WD directly from the camp to the village if you prefer not to ride again.
I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me
