A 2-night Camel Trek in Merzouga offers an incredible opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the heart of the Sahara Desert. You'll experience breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, ride camels over the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes, and enjoy a relaxing moment with sweet mint tea in a traditional nomadic tent. Savor the authentic flavors of Moroccan tagine, listen to the rhythm of Berber drumming music, and fall asleep beneath a sky filled with stars. Wake up to the awe-inspiring sight of a Saharan sunrise.
These unforgettable two nights of camel trekking in Morocco will ensure your Merzouga stay is nothing short of extraordinary.
First Day: After meeting at your hotel in the village, you will leave your car in secure parking and pack the necessary items for your evening in the desert. Your camel trek will begin in the late afternoon, around two hours before sunset, as we venture deep into the heart of the desert dunes. The trek lasts about an hour and a half, allowing you to experience one of Morocco's most stunning sunsets. If you're interested, you can also try sandboarding during this time. We’ll pause halfway through for photos and to admire the breathtaking desert landscapes.
After sunset, we will continue to the camp, where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea. You can relax until dinner, which will be followed by traditional Berber drumming music around the campfire. Enjoy the starry sky and spend the night in a comfortable Berber-tented camp.
Second Day: We will rise early to catch the sunrise, followed by breakfast and a 1.5 to 2-hour camel trek that will take us further into the desert to a second camp.
A traditional Moroccan lunch and mint tea will be served at a small Sahara oasis, providing ample time to unwind and relax in the dunes. After watching the sunset, you’ll enjoy a delicious traditional meal and retire to comfortable bedding for the night.
Waking up early the following day is worthwhile for catching another beautiful Saharan sunrise and capturing stunning photographs. After these lovely moments, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast and have the opportunity to shower at the camp.
Following breakfast, we will embark on another camel trek back to our original starting point. Alternatively, we can arrange a transfer directly from the camp back to the village, concluding your unforgettable two-night Sahara adventure in Merzouga.
I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me
