Technically, yes, you can drive from Marrakech to Merzouga in one day. But should you? For most travelers, we do not recommend it. The journey is long, and trying to see the attractions along the way while still reaching Merzouga the same day can make the trip feel rushed.

Yes, you can rent a car and drive yourself. The main roads are paved, and a 4x4 is not required simply to reach Merzouga.
