Our 4-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Fes. From there, we’ll embark on a scenic journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through picturesque Berber villages along the way.
Our first stop will be in Ifrane, often referred to as “Moroccan Switzerland” or “Little Switzerland.” Known for its cleanliness, Ifrane features charming buildings with triangular rooftops reminiscent of Swiss architecture. You’ll have some free time to explore the town’s serene surroundings.
Next, we’ll head to a cedar forest, where you’ll have the chance to spot and feed the playful Barbary Macaque monkeys.
Continuing the journey, we’ll make our way to Midelt, the “City of Apples,” nestled in lush agricultural lands. From here, we’ll drive along the Tizi N'Tlghamt Road, winding through the High Atlas Mountains towards the Errachidia Dam—a perfect spot for some picturesque photo opportunities. We’ll continue through Errachidia to Erfoud, a town famous for its fossils and bustling annual dates market.
Our ultimate destination is the stunning Merzouga Desert. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your camel guide, who will lead you on an unforgettable journey across the towering Erg Chebbi dunes, the highest in North Africa. Along the way, we’ll stop to witness a breathtaking desert sunset—one of the most unforgettable experiences.
After the sunset, we’ll make our way to the desert camp. The camp staff will greet you and show you to your tent. Enjoy a delicious dinner, accompanied by traditional music around the campfire. Afterward, relax and take in the starry night sky, immersed in the tranquility of the Sahara Desert.
Today, you will explore the beauty of the Merzouga Desert and its surroundings. The crew will wake you early to witness the breathtaking sunrise. Afterward, you'll return to the camp for breakfast.
Following breakfast, we will head to the Moroccan Auto National Museum to explore a collection of old and unique international cars. From there, we'll take the path to Khamlia, a village inhabited by people of black African descent from Sudan and Gabon. You will be able to appreciate their music and learn about their lifestyle and traditions.
Next, we will visit the former Kohl mines, previously owned by the French. After exploring the mines, you will visit nomadic families living in the Sahara Desert. You'll learn about their simple cooking methods and how the women create handcrafted carpets. They are also known for their hospitality and generosity.
After breakfast, we will leave the desert. Our first stop will be Rissani, where we will explore one of the region's oldest and largest local markets. Afterward, we will have lunch in Tinghir.
Next, we will visit the Todra Gorges, Morocco's highest and narrowest gorges. These gorges are popular among rock climbers. You can hike for an hour within the valley, allowing you to interact with the locals and learn about their culture and traditions.
Today marks the last day of our four-day tour from Fes to Marrakech, starting from your hotel. We will travel through the stunning Dades Valley to Ouarzazate and Marrakech. The road through Dades Valley is renowned as the "Route of a Thousand Kasbahs," offering numerous opportunities to capture the perfect photographs. M'Gouna's first stop will be in Kalaat M'Gouna, located in Roses Valley, where you can visit a local rose cooperative.
Afterward, we will drive to Ouarzazate, often called the "Hollywood of Morocco," to explore the famous Atlas Studios. This area has been featured in many films and series, including "Game of Thrones," "The Mummy," and "Gladiator."
Next, we will proceed to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will stop to explore the site and enjoy the breathtaking views from the Kasbah.
We will then cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N-Tichka pass, reaching an elevation of 2,260 meters. Along the way, we will stop at an Argan oil cooperative where you can learn about its uses and cosmetics. Finally, we will continue our journey to Marrakech, where the four-day tour from Fes to Marrakech ends by dropping you off at your accommodation.
I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me
